Vasily Zenko: Archivarius 2.0

"Vasily Zenko is a versatile artist, capable of working on multiple painting cycles at once, continually adding new works to each series. This ability stems from the limitless nature of his thematic exploration and the lack of time or numerical restrictions on any project. The current exhibition features pieces from five distinct series, some of which are already known to art enthusiasts – "Another Skin," "Predator and Prey," "Difficult Relationships," and "Time Like X-ray" – while artwork from the "Guests of the Jade Emperor" series is being showcased for the first time."
One of the most gifted and successful artists in modern-day Belarus, Vasily Zenko was born in the small town of Stolbtsy in the Minsk region in 1977. He started his artistic career at the Belarusian Lyceum of Arts from 1989 to 1996, and after graduating in 2006 from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts with eminent professors in the monumental and decorative arts, he received his fundamental professional education.

Vasily Zenko is a member of two creative unions of Belarus: the Union of Artists since 2009 and the Union of Designers since 2011.

He works nonstop, immersing himself in projects of all sizes, which call for not only in-depth knowledge but also flawless mastery of various forms and techniques of monumental and decorative art, such as relief stucco, mosaics, stained glass, and wall and ceiling painting. In easel painting, Vasily also creates large-scale projects in which the paintings are united by a common theme; each painting could easily stand alone, but they are all connected both thematically and exhibitionally into a single narrative cycle.

Vasily Zenko has been creating paintings for those who are blind or visually impaired for many years. His Braille-based textured canvas surface has been included into the tactile perception system of blind and visually impaired individuals. His inclusive initiatives are currently on show in a number of exhibition halls around the nation and have gained recognition on a global scale.

In addition to private collections in Austria, Belarus, Germany, China, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, the United States, Turkey, and France, Vasily Zenko's paintings can be found in the collections of the National Art Museum and other museums in Belarus, China, and the United States.
